BAPE Bearbricks are the longest-running brand collaboration in the BE@RBRICK line. A Bathing Ape has worked with Medicom Toy across ABC camo, Baby Milo, Shark and Camo Tiger designs, plus joint releases with NEIGHBORHOOD, READYMADE, Levi’s and Comme des Garçons.

What is a BAPE Bearbrick?

It is a standard Medicom BE@RBRICK figure printed with A Bathing Ape artwork. The figure underneath is identical to any other Bearbrick — nine parts, eight points of articulation — and only the surface design changes.

That is what makes BAPE releases collectable in the same way a Warhol edition is: the form is neutral, so the camo pattern or Shark face is the entire statement. BAPE has been doing this longer than almost any other brand, which is why the catalogue runs deep.

What are the main BAPE Bearbrick types?

Four design families account for most releases: ABC Camo, Camo Tiger, Camo Shark and Baby Milo. Each recurs in new colourways rather than being a one-off.

• Camo Shark — the Shark face applied over camo. Includes the CDG collaboration and the Clear Red 1000%.
• Camo Tiger — released in matched colourways; we currently carry Purple, Blue and Red in both 1000% and 100% & 400% sets.
• Baby Milo — BAPE’s ape character, including a Flocky (flocked, velvet-textured) version.
• Brand crossovers — BAPE with a third party: NEIGHBORHOOD, READYMADE, Levi’s, Sorayama, Peko-chan.

Which BAPE Bearbricks are the most valuable?

The triple collaborations and the large chrome-adjacent editions. The A BATHING APE × READYMADE 100% & 1000% set is the highest priced in our range at $2,000, and BAPE × READYMADE sets appear among the highest recorded Bearbrick sales anywhere.

Below that, the BAPE ABC Camo Shark 1000% Clear Red ($850) and A BATHING APE × NEIGHBORHOOD 1000% ($800) are the strongest in stock. What sizes do BAPE Bearbricks come in?

Mostly 1000% (70cm) and 100% & 400% sets, with occasional blind-box releases at 100%.

The 1000% figures are the display pieces — the Camo Tiger colourways sit at $218.40 each. The 100% & 400% sets are the accessible entry point, from around $40 to $73, and give you a 7cm and a 28cm figure in the same design. What is a Flocky Bearbrick?

Flocky is Medicom’s flocked finish — a fine fibre coating that gives the figure a soft, velvet-like surface instead of smooth vinyl. The BABY MILO Flocky 100% & 400% set is the BAPE example in our range.

How do BAPE Bearbricks compare to other collaborations?

They sit between the artist editions and the character licences. A BAPE figure carries streetwear demand from outside the Bearbrick market, in the way a Warhol figure carries art demand — but production runs are generally larger than fine-art editions, so entry prices are lower.
